This is a comprehensive overview of the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of the cervical spine with an emphasis on the use of conservative methods. The scope of coverage is vast, examining anatomy, clinical syndromes, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management. The purpose is to capture the complexities of the cervical spine and present a systematic way of approaching problems in this region of the body. This is directed mainly at chiropractic physicians, but will be of use to both osteopaths and medical physicians as well as students in all three disciplines. There are six major sections of this book, each which contains several chapters that cover more specific topics. Sprinkled throughout the text are clinical pearls that help to reinforce concepts. These generally present clinical cases and a comment. The scope of coverage in this text is comprehensive and touches upon all areas of the cervical spine. The section on evaluation, especially the chapter written by Dr. George DeFranca, is strong and well written. Although there are a few texts in the chiropractic profession that touch upon the cervical spine, this has to be counted among the best. This is a valuable addition to the chiropractic literature.
