Subluxation: Loss of joint alignment and integrity. This describes an injury to the joint structures such as the ligaments, discs, joint capsules, supporting tendons, and fascia. Subluxation is the most common etiology of osteoarthritis and is characterized by immobilization, inflammation, pain and muscle spasms.
Packed with illustrations and photos of dissections, including CT and MRI images of sections of the spine and pelvis that make it easy to recognize the characteristic patterns of subluxations. The common types of changes that occur in the structures of the spine have been classified, documented, and arranged in the order of progressive severity of dislocation and degeneration. Normal anatomy is also introduced for ease of comparison.
